Tried to buy a laptop there, and it had already been opened and optimized by the geek squad. Why do they do this? I just wanted a computer that was factory sealed. Is this how they are reselling computers that have been returned?

I have recently added an external 320 gb hard drive, my C: drive with all my system programs has 80 gb drive with 58gb available, and my third drive in an internal 45 gb – with 12gb available.

Can you please tell me the best way to optimize my computer for memory, speed and performance.
I am no computer expert, but can usually figure most things out with instructions. So, please give a ‘how to’ when giving instructions. I use firefox as my browser, and it is so slow right now that I can only load one page at a time.

Windows task manager shows 900-1500 PF usage and about 50 processes running. My computer is 2 years old with a 3.2 GHZ CPU. I am running McAfee Anti-Virus which I know is a resource hog. I don’t do games, but many windows of Internet Explorer, an 2-3 each of MS Excel and MS Word files open. I have 8 applications running. The CPU is running about 8%.
I have a Desktop that I would love to upgrade, but I’m not really so sure which video card, CPU, Cooling system, RAM, Etc. to get. If anyone of the helpful people of yahoo can tell a website of that caliber, I’d greatly appreciate it.
