I have a D-Link wireless AP router which I am running my cable modem into my WAN port for internet. I want to run hardwired from that network to another wireless AP Router and have that router receive internet as well off of the same connection. Is there a setting I need to use or do I need more commercial type of gear, etc? I know I can configure as a bridge but I don’t think that’s hardwire friendly, etc.

When piggybacking my wireless internet, of the 5 available unsecured networks in range, I can only connect to those with the weakest signal – can anyone tell me what gives? I would REALLY like to connect to the network with 3 bars, but so far, no dice. Any advice/wisdom would be insanely appreciated.

I have a linksys firmware 2. My internet keeps on disappearing every 3 or so minutes. The cause maybe that the labtop network my pc is picking up is trying to connect to that network than my own.

I live in a roommate situation, and my computer warns me that a shared network lets others view the activity I do online. How can they see this and what can they see?

I am trying to set up a network for my girlfriend’s law office. The office consists of her, her partners and several unassociated attorneys that rent space.

She wants a network where she and her partners can access each other’s computers, but none of the other attorneys can, but, their DSL must still provide internet connection to the whole office.

I’m a SQL programmer, not a network engineer, so I’m not quite sure how to accomplish this. It seems like it should be pretty simple?

Thanks.

P.S. Their network would be peer-to-peer, and there is no PDC.
P.P.S. I would prefer a hardware based solution.
Some people are saying “stack two routers.” Does this mean plug in a separate router into the main router and run all the partners’ stuff through that, and everyone else’s through the main router?
And in that case would machines coming off the secondary router still use the primary router’s DHCP?

Someone used the computer with wireless connection. Now when he gave it back I can’t connect to the internet. I’m using a dsl modem through AT and T. I downloaded all the drivers, and the network drivers don’t show.

Please try to explain these to me so I will have a decent understanding of this in the future. I have done some research on the standards and it seems all I am able to find is general information and not the actual standards. If you have any links I would appreciate those as well so I am able to look over them to find out additional information. Thank you for your help.
